The foundation for establishing the East – West University was an educational initiative that began in 2004 – 2005, which aimed at regional cooperation among the universities of the South Caucasus and Turkey. The main goal was to establish a strong connection between regional educational institutions and to encourage collaborative educational activities.
East – West University was established in 2019 with the purpose of providing access to high – quality medical education for both local and international students. The purpose of founding the university was to establish modern standards of education and medicine in Georgia, which has been achieved by integrating European and international requirements and standards. The university clearly demonstrates its commitment to international collaboration, academic rigor, and student-centered approaches.
The university aspires to establish an academic environment aligned with the best international practices, foster intercultural dialogue, attain high employment rates for its graduates in both local and international labor markets, and contribute to the development of a knowledge – based civil society.
At present, the university offers one – cycle English – language educational program in Medicine (MD), which complies with European academic standards and international practices. The program combines theoretical knowledge and practical training, led by qualified and experienced medical professionals. From the very first year of study, students acquire practical experience in modern laboratories and clinics.
