The Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Pacific State Medical University" of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (FSBEI VO TSMU of the Ministry of Health of Russia) began its history in 1958. Graduates of the university work in almost all regions of Russia, many of them are organizers of healthcare on a national and regional scale, carry out scientific research in the largest domestic and foreign scientific institutions.

Pacific State Medical University is the largest medical university in the Far East, implementing educational programs of pre-university, secondary vocational, higher education (bachelor's, specialist, master's, residency and postgraduate levels), in which more than 4,000 students study.

Currently, the university is the coordinator of the scientific and educational medical cluster "Vostochny", which unites medical universities of the Far East and the Trans-Baikal Territory in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Health of Russia dated 26.11.2015 No. 844.

The University is an active participant in the international educational space, carrying out educational and scientific activities within the framework of international cooperation agreements with foreign healthcare organizations of the Asia-Pacific region.

The stable state of the university is reflected in the results of monitoring the effectiveness of higher education institutions conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia since 2012, in which almost all indicators of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Tver State Medical University of the Ministry of Health of Russia are above the threshold values.
